SUBFIRE – Blood Omen
A concept album of steel, honor, and soul-searching darkness!
“Blood Omen,” Subfire’s second full-length album, unfolds in Edo-period Japan, where the main character, Sinner, continues his saga seeking a higher power, what some would call God.
1. Tides of Alibis
The storm begins in silence.
In the shadowed halls of Edo Castle, the newly crowned Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu gazes upon a fragile peace, a unity carved with blood and bound with fear. But within him, a silent storm brews. The Iga and Koga clans, legendary warriors of stealth and death, pose a threat he dares not ignore. A twisted plan is born, a false tournament cloaked in honor, but seeded with deception. His mind weaves lies like tides crashing over truth. The tides of alibis rise.
2. Rage of Emotions
Peace is shattered with ink and blade.
When the Shogun issues the official call to arms, emotions explode. Warriors of both clans feel the insult, the manipulation dressed as ritual. Fury, pride, revenge, all ignite in the eyes of the chosen ten. The scroll has spoken. There is no turning back. The drums of war echo, not on the battlefield, but in their very hearts.
3. Samurai
An ode to the code.
Before the first duel, there is silence. A deep, sacred preparation. The elite warriors, chosen from both Iga and Koga, meditate, sharpen blades, and surrender to Bushidō, the ancient code. This is not just a battle. It is a ceremony of the soul. Samurai honors the path of discipline, loyalty, and sacrifice. Steel will clash, but the true weapon lies within.
4. Path of the Assassin
Where loyalty is shadowed by treachery.
From the shadows, Hattori Hanzo watches. Once the savior of the Shogun, now his silent enforcer. A master of illusion, manipulation, and death, Hanzo carries out his lord’s dirty work, quietly shaping the bloodshed to fulfill Tokugawa’s hidden scheme. This song pulls back the mask of the ninja, revealing the darkness behind the myth, a man torn between honor and duty, walking the narrow path of the assassin.
5. Iga Land
Blood runs through sacred soil.
The battleground is set in the heart of Iga territory. There, among misty forests and silent hills, the warriors clash. Katanas gleam in crimson arcs, and the land itself seems to cry out. A brutal, relentless confrontation drenches the earth with the blood of brothers. No mercy. No surrender. Only survival.
6. Rise
From the ashes, they stand.
The bodies pile. The spirit breaks. But in the aftermath of battle, something ancient awakens. Wounded and weary, the warriors of both factions stare death in the face and rise. Not for the Shogun. Not for revenge. But for the legacy of their clans. For honor. For themselves.
7. Unbreakable
The final clash of the undying.
Now only the strongest remain. Torn by grief, rage, and loyalty, they stand unshaken. The final duels erupt with unrelenting fury. Swords scream through the air. Each strike is a declaration: We will not break. The battlefield becomes a temple of resistance — but the truth looms closer.
8. Black Edged Meitu
The blade that ends all.
As the final two warriors, the leaders of Iga and Koga, lock eyes, the illusion crumbles. They see through the Shogun’s treachery, understanding the true purpose behind their suffering. Rather than be pawns in his game, they choose a different path: seppuku, the ritual of the noble death. The blade, the meitu, is black-edged, forged not in steel, but in truth. Their sacrifice becomes a symbol of pride and defiance.
9. Hunter of Dreams
And still he searches.
Among the chaos, The Sinner walks unseen. Drawn to the Shogun’s myth, he hoped to find God in the ruler of men. Instead, he finds corruption, cruelty, and the emptiness of power. Once again, he is left shattered, disillusioned, yet determined. His hunt for meaning continues, through the ruins of war and echoes of lost honor. He is the eternal wanderer.
He is the Hunter of Dreams.
